This historic mansion built in 1887 offers a nostalgic setting with a variety of guest rooms on the third and fourth floors of a classically restored brownstone. It is beautifully appointed with a mixture of antiques and fine art pieces. A roomy parlor, dining room, and kitchen furnished in authentic original antiques are available for the guests to enjoy and relax. There is a grand piano available. Both the business and vacation traveler appreciate the pleasant quiet atmosphere of the home and family staff.

Before making a reservation, please make sure you are comfortable with the following regulations : 

  • Smoking is NOT permitted inside the building.
  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
  • The balance must paid in full during your stay.
  • After making your reservation, the deposit can be sent by wire transfer (if you are coming from Europe) or you can fax us credit card number and expiration date. 
  • Unregistered guests are not permitted.
  • Children (under 12 years) with advance notice
  • NO PETS.

We prefer cash. Because credit card fees have increased significantly in the past few months, we ask that you to pay in cash. Thanks.

FAQ

  • TRANSPORTATION: Is it easy to get to the major sites in Manhattan? 

    The express train is a few minutes away. There are also many buses, and you can walk to places like Museum of the City of New York and Central Park. We are no more than half an hour away from most major attractions. Times Square is only 15 minutes by subway.


Directions to Villa 121 New York

From La Guardia Airport

TAXI: costs about $25 + plus tolls ($4.50). Time: 15 - 20 minutes. 

Take the M60 bus to Lenox (Sixth) Avenue and 125th Street. From there it is a five minute walk to the bed and breakfast. Cost: $2.50 in coins or metrocard. Time: 30 minutes on the bus. 10 WALK TO B & B

From John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport

TAXI: Average Cost  from the airport. Cost: $45 (flat fee) + toll ($4.50). Time: 35 - 40 minutes. Tell the driver to take the Triborough Bridge.

Take Airtrain $5 to the subway station at Jamaica. From Jamaica: take the E train to 42nd Street. Walk underground for a block and a half to the 2 or 3 line. Take the uptown 2 or 3 train to 116th Street. Exit on Lenox Avenue, walk four blocks to 121th Street. Cost: $2.00 Time: Door-to-door= approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.

We don't recommend the Supershuttle when coming from the airport, as it takes about 2 hours to 3 hours to get here and drops everyone else off first. You can take it to get to the airport.

From Newark International Airport

Option 1: Take a cab, which can cost from $50 - $70 (plus tolls $10). Be careful with this option, as the cab drivers from New Jersey may not know the City that well and your fare may get even higher. This is a very expensive option.

Option 2: Take the Olympia bus to the Port Authority bus terminal at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue (about 35 - 45 minutes depending on traffic). Then walk along 42nd Street from Eighth Avenue to Seventh Avenue (Times Square). Take the Uptown 2 or 3 train to 116th Street. From there it is about a five minute walk to bed and breakfast. Cost of bus: $11, Cost of subway: $2.00 or you can catch a cab from midtown (42nd Street): about $15.

Option 3: Take the AirTrain/NJ transit to New York Penn Station (about 35 minutes). Transfer to the Uptown 2 or 3 train to 116th Street. From there it is about a five minute walk to bed and breakfast.  Cost of train: $14, Cost of subway: $2.00

From Port Authority Bus Terminal

 Walk one block to 42nd Street and Broadway/7th Avenue. Take the 2 or 3(Uptown) train to 116th Street. From there walk approximately 10 minutes to bed and breakfast.

From downtown by subway

Take the 2 or 3 (Uptown) train to 116th Street. Walk up Lenox Avenue, turn right on West 121th Street. Make sure you do not take the 1 or 9 train.

Metrocard Information

Metrocards can be bought in any denomination more than $2. In addition there is a daily metrocard for $7.50, a weekly metrocard for $25. If you buy a regular metrocard for $20, you get 15% additional, i.e. one free ride, plus $1. Note: The daily metrocard ($7.50) is not available from token clerks, however it is available at any metrocard machine (in the subway station) or designated stores/merchants.
